Description: trn is really 'not' Linux specific - when submitting this entry, there was no *nix news reader category. trn is a text based nntp news client. It is based on the classic 'rn', one of the earlier news readers in usenet. trn has the ability to do message selecting (or junking), extracting of attachments, and displaying and reading messages either sequentially or in 'threaded' order. Trn users can also set up specialized scoring rules for message selection, and can invoke specialized perl filtering.
