When you send a message to another user, you're using a client-only plugin, that will dynamically load and run the QuickMessage plugin on the other computer. When you create a new event on your calendar, you're using the calendar plugin, which is connected with the calendar service on the server.

The benefits of this design is that we can't mix things badly : we have to separate our controller (service) from our view (plugin). This will also allow us to do an alternate view (in a web application) using the same service."
