Coming from an OpenVMS & MS Windows background... SUSE 9.2 is a good desktop alternative to MS Windows - easy to install & YAST makes it easy to configure.
Ideal desktop for business users - has most features they need. I recently set up a small office all on SUSE desktops, and I didn't have to download a single driver to complete the install, including printers; try that on XP.
One of the first with an AMD64 release too.
Can't comment on any of their server products, not tested.
As previous post says, maybe no community as: It mostly just works out of the box. It is likely used mainly by business.
